A la Maison

Hello All! We have been consumed in the daily tasks of a new job, four kids in French School, language study, and generally re-setting-up our lives here in France. This has required us to pay more attention to getting things done, and less to getting them communicated.  In any case, it is time to resurrect the old blog.

It has been requested that we post a few pictures of our new home, dogs, etc. Last week we had so much rain that it would have been difficult to take a picture outside without standing in a puddle.  The sunshine in Southern France is so nice, I had to wait for it.  Sorry, not too many kid pics, and no dog pics (that will have to be another post) as the dogs belong to the neighborhood, and we have little control over which neighbor they decide to grace their presence with.

To keep things interesting, these pictures are accompanied by a quiz.* Please match the picture with the statement below. Good Luck!

1. Dawn a jacket or stand here to warm your heart and body.
2. Can't wait until it is 80 degrees!
3. Had any sleep lately?
4. Be here at 6:30 AM to see ghosts in blankets reading holy books.
5. Going up?
6. I hope the kids don't find me here...
7. Fun is sometimes most important in a relationship.
8. Keep away! (tourists and robbers)
9. Le salle de bain jaune.
10. A dog's favorite sitting spot.
11. En français: jardin
12. Je voudrais manger quelque chose.

*If you get an A on the quiz you can come visit us!  (Grading scale: A=10% or more correct)

I think I could match at least 5 of them! I love the floor in the dining and kitchen!

I think I got 9 or 10 right without looking up the French. I discovered from another blogger that "Je voudrais manger quelque chose" is "clearly the only French phrase you need to know." We shall practice it well!

For those who want to crack the code: the letter beneath each picture corresponds with the first letter of the sentence that describes it.
